Use generated credentials
The SMTP username is the generated value beginning with smtp_, not the Microsoft email address. Use the one-time generated password, not the Microsoft account password.
Recreate uncertain credentials
If the password is lost or may have been altered, revoke the connection and generate a replacement instead of repeatedly guessing.
